SEASON START - PARENT MEETING

May 2, 2024, at 7 pm online. The link will be sent out to registered families next week. 

SWIM TESTING

May 13th at Nelson Pool. 

• ALL swimmers must be able to swim one lap across the pool without stopping, grabbing lane lines, or putting their feet down. 
• Levels 1-4 will be assigned based on the swimmer's ability to proficiently swim all 4 competitive strokes. 
• Swimmers from prior seasons will never be demoted but may be moved up.  

USA SWIM

Don't forget to register on USA Swim and pay for the summer seasonal membership. This is mandatory to swim for all swim clubs. If you are low income you can apply for a reduced fee.

MEET OUR COACHES

• Sarah Pierce - Head Coach
  • Sarah has been an Assistant Coach, Parent, Official and Board member. You name it, she's done it. She is excited to join us in a new position this summer as Head Coach. Some of her goals for this summer are to improve technique, develop team unity, and to build strong and confident swimmers. She can't wait to meet everyone on the pool deck this summer. 
• Assistant Coaches
  • We are excited to have two new assistant coaches with extensive backgrounds in competitive swim this summer. We will introduce them at the parent meeting next week. 
• Jr. Coaches
  • We are excited to introduce Jasmine and Olivia, current Orca swimmers, as our Jr. Coaches for this year. Both with knowledge of our team and a passion for swim. Congratulations girls! We are excited to have you join the coaching staff!

Own a business? Consider sponsoring our team. Work for an employer? Consider asking them to sponsor us. Only half of the money needed to run the team is brought in by registration fees. The other half we raise through sponsorships and fundraisers. Consider sponsoring us today! The sponsorship letter is attached. 

OFFICIALS

We are in dire need of more officials for the team. Officials are required for our team to attend invitationals on the weekends. 

• What: Officials volunteer to be judges at the meets. 
• Requirements: Attend a few trainings online (all fees reimbursed by the team). Volunteer to learn how to be an Official. Be an official at meets. No swim experience is needed. All training will be provided. 
• Time Commitment: First year, 10 days of Training/Officiating at meets. Each additional year, 4 days of officiating per summer minimum. 
• Perks: $200 off your swimmer's registration fees, gifts, free food at meets, the best seat in the house for swim events, and a very grateful board and team.
